The time has come that we say farewell to Turkey and to our past 10 years living overseas. We had no idea what incredible adventures that were in store for us these past 3 years, and living in Ankara exceeded our expectations in every way! Arriving in Ankara in the midst of COVID, we had the opportunity to travel all over the country (because everywhere else we wanted to visit had closed borders), had new cultural experiences as a family, and we met many wonderful people. Turkey is a place that will always be dear to our hearts, and we are thankful for our time that we lived here.
Our flight was at 4am, and Kadem and family wanted to come by at midnight to wish us off. It was sad to say goodbye, but we will keep in touch with them.

We flew from Ankara to Zurich, then Zurich to Chicago, where Nathan’s family was waiting for us. Görüşürüz Türkiye, America, here we come!

We are thrilled you are back home - we appreciate all the amazing opportunities you had in Turkey to see such incredible new places, travel the region, and make so many awesome family memories. What a perfect place to end your 10 years overseas. We appreciate the opportunity to visit three new countries and be exposed to the people, culture, and traditions of such amazing places. We got to share a part of your overseas life and loved every minute of it. Kadem and family were a big part of your life in Turkey and so happy they were there to see you all off. Meeting them was a highlight - the kindest, nicest family and a real treat to know and spend time with. I hope Eliza keeps some of her knowledge of Turkish - she is just like her mom:) absorbs languages. Our three loves got a world education they could never get in school - how fortunate to be exposed to and live amongst different cultures at a young age.
