Another day, the boys and I went to a nearby town to visit the Mt. Mitchell Museum. They had an huge sculpture garden as well, so we had fun exploring both inside and outside. They had a kids exploration area that is mainly where we stayed, since the rest of the museum was mostly art galleries. Caleb loves legos, and he found a lego wall. If you look close enough behind him, he wrote out his name in legos :).
Benjamin learned about giant lite brites, and he made a flag.
They had color wheels, reading stations, a noodle bridge builder, and several other stations that I can't remember, but they looked at it all.
Afterwards, we had a picnic lunch in the sculpture garden and then walked around the grounds to explore the sculptures. The boys were very interested in which material was used to build the sculptures and the sculpture name.
And then the skies opened up and the rain came down....and we enjoyed every minute of getting wet!
It was a nice way to spend the day with the boys :).
