Çeşme

The day after school ended, we flew to Izmir then traveled another hour west to Çeşme, a beautiful seaside town on the Aegean Sea that we wanted to visit before we left Turkey.

The water was crystal clear and very inviting. The first day we enjoyed the pool and beach and hung around the hotel.

The next morning, we went downtown to see the old Ottoman castle and explore the area.

Everywhere you turn, there are images of Ataturk.

Next, we went to a nearby town called Alaçatı. It was a very quaint town with pedestrian streets, shops, cafes.

The rest of the trip, we stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the pools and beautiful beach. Knowing the coming weeks ahead of us would be very busy as we finished up our time in Turkey, it was a great way to relax and unplug for a few days as a family.
