This past Friday, my parents, the boys, and I headed downtown to visit the DC National Zoo, and to enjoy the beautiful fall day. My parents have been here for the past week, and Caleb is having a lot of fun with Grandpa Art and Grandma Sue!
Caleb is learning animals, and it was a lot of fun to watch him make noises as he saw the animals. As soon as we saw the lions and tigers he started roaring, it was really cute.
What is Caleb pointing at....that's right, the monkeys! There is a rope that spans the zoo for the monkeys to get around, and the zoo keeper kindly asked us to move when we were in the radius for 'monkey droppings.' Good thing we moved becasuse poop did start falling shortly after!
One of the apes was showing off in the ape house, and Caleb thought it was hilarious. He had quite the audience as he laughed, talked, and pointed at the ape.
We saw a lot of animals as we walked the zoo, and our last stop was the kids farm. As we left the cows, Caleb kept mooing.
We had a fun day at the zoo!
On Saturday, we drove up to the Baltimore Arboretum to meet my best friend
Marissa for the day. We have been friends since high school, and it was a real treat for my parents to see her too. She is 28 weeks pregnant with a boy, and we are so excited for her and Mike's first baby! Shortly after meeting Ben, I put him in her arms to give her early practice :). She had Caleb cracking up and she is so silly with little kids. Marissa and Mike are going to be really fun and loving parents and we can't wait to meet their little guy in a few months!

Looks like a great couple of days with family, friends and animals. Glad you were able to meet Marissa and your parents were there also. Caleb is learning quickly and Benjamin is growing just as fast. Enjoy the next few weeks. Love, Dad and Mom P.
